Buster Machine is a platform for my written work in all its forms. It is entirely written, edited, formatted, and maintained by me, Jessica Umbra, alone. I'm one woman with two jobs and only a certain amount of free time and my fair share of mental health problems to deal with among other things. Any errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. are a result of oversights caused by these particular circumstances, and I hope they'll be forgiven with that in mind.
These stories are intended for an adult audience who is comfortable reading about possibly challenging or upsetting topics. They might contain violence, gore, explicit sex, and other potentially objectionable elements. I've chosen to forego individual content warnings on each piece to maintain a literary atmosphere. Readers should consider this a blanket disclaimer and choose how whether or not, and how, they would like to engage with the work presented here. These stories also contain depictions of women, feminism, queer and trans life, and reflect the beautiful diversity of planet Earth without apology or obfuscation. Any readers with disdain for such themes are pointed to the door.
Browsing Buster Machine should be like spending time with a literary journal or story magazine, just one focused on a single author, and free of charge. I hope you will find my work entertaining and maybe even intellectually enriching. I would love if you did like it, to share it with a friend. I'm still very new to this, and every reader is a treasure to me. Thank you.
